Nepal accommodation

During your trip with Nepal Travel Plan you'll stay in attractive, well-kept, often simple, accommodation. In cities like Kathmandu, you can look out across the rooftops and count the temples from your balcony. In Chitwan, you'll stay in a safari lodge and/or a jungle tower. During our treks, the teahouse or homestay accommodation is basic, but the experience and the views are totally and utterly amazing.

Our accommodation in Nepal is hand-picked, eclectic and authentic. We steer clear of international chains as we prefer to use properties with local character and warmth. We personally ensure that each property has the right combination of cleanliness, location, friendly staff, good service, and local charm. We visit our properties regularly, so we can vouch for their quality.

Our Nepal accommodation policy...

These properties are often fairly small, with only a handful of rooms, so we don't name the hotels in advance of booking. We use a pool of accommodation in Nepal and in each destination, which means that if one hotel is full, we are able to offer another of equal standard. We don't name them purely because we do not know which of these will be available at the moment of booking, and we do not like to fix customer expectations on one particular hotel. Once your booking is confirmed, we'll send you a comprehensive list of all of your hotels.

Comfort Levels

Nepal Travel Plan uses a category of 1 to 5 to rate our accommodation. Our standard is category 3, and in general the comfortable and friendly accommodation we mention in the website falls into this category. You can expect good accommodation with the necessary comforts such as private bathroom. It should also be mentioned that our category ratings are not official star ratings:

Comfort Level 1 - Very basic overnight Nepal accommodation
Basic accommodation in Nepal such as a trekking lodge with limited facilities. This is the type of accommodation you can expect on a multi-day trek in the mountains. The jungle tower accommodation in the tour Into the Jungle with the Tharu falls into this category. You'll be able to experience the traditional Nepal and you'll be staying in a small, basic room with shared facilities.

Comfort Level 2 - Simple Nepal accommodation
Again this is simple, but nonetheless reasonably comfortable accommodation in Nepal. You can expect a private room with basic bathroom facilities.

Comfort Level 3 - Comfortable accommodation in Nepal
Clean, charming and well-kept accommodation, full of character and in good locations. Most of the accommodation in Nepal used by Nepal Travel Plan falls into this category. They vary from cosy small hotels, to authentic traditional guest houses.

Comfort Level 4 - Special accommodation in Nepal
For some of our tours we have found some truly exceptional accommodation in Nepal. They're a touch more expensive than our standard, but worth every penny.
